Hubballi: Three Injured as Canter Collides with Truck on Gadag Road

Hubballi: Three individuals sustained injuries after a canter collided with an iron sponge-laden truck from behind on Gadag Road near ITC Godown in the city. The Hubballi rural police and East Traffic Police swiftly responded to the scene, rescuing the individuals who were trapped inside the canter’s cabin due to the impact of the collision.

According to East Traffic Police Inspector Jackson D’Souza, the canter, heading towards Hubballi from Gadag, collided with the iron sponge-laden truck traveling from Karwar to Koppal. The force of the collision left three individuals, including the driver and two cleaners of the truck, trapped inside the cabin.

The police successfully extricated them from the crushed cabin of the canter by securing it with ropes to the truck it collided with. Mangled parts were carefully removed, and the trapped individuals were safely rescued. They were promptly transported to KIMS Hospital for medical treatment.

Additionally, authorities cleaned up the sponge granules, which were scattered over nearly half a kilometer due to the impact of the collision. The East Traffic Police have registered a case and investigation is going on.
